Alida's Amaryallis
Today is definately one cold winter day in Groton. Its been about 10 degrees with blowing snow. There was not enough snow accumulation to let us get excited about cross county skiing but it made a nice back drop for a picture of Alida's birthday flower. How does it look from New Zealand Lida?

This is a picture of our pond early last Fall. Today the pond is all white from the ice an snow and there is only about 4 inches of the pole. Its 100 feet across and 200 feet long. The slope coming in the middle on the left is our beach. The end with the water in it is the deep end and it is sized to be 10 feet deep. If you look carefully you can see an eight feet pole we have lodged in a cement block sticking up in the middle of the deep end. The white marks are one foot increments.
